Charity Donations
The Weald of Kent Ploughing Match Association held another successful Plough Match at
New Barn Farm in Hawkenbury, Tonbridge by kind permission of J Emery, and Mr & Mrs Graham Williams on Saturday 17th September 2022. With blue skies and the sun shining the day was a great success. The association is very proud to announce that over £10,000 was donated to the following local charities: Ashford Valley Tickham Hunt, Bolebroke Beagles, Cardiac Risk in the Young (in memory of Ben Hammond), Dandelion Time, Homewood School Young Farmers, Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Trust, Medical Detection Dogs, R.A.B.I, Riding for the Disabled Association, The Farming Community Network, Ashford and District Young Farmers' Club, Pukka Ponies Equine Rescue, Hands of Hope, Cancer Research UK and the Weald of Kent Young Farmers' Club. The Chairman’s charity of choice this year is the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance, a charity which supported one of our committee members who fell from a ladder badly injuring himself. He used both their land and air support which we all truly grateful for.
The Weald of Kent Plough Match invited people to enjoy a fun-filled day including Clay Pigeon Shooting, Gymkhana, Terrier Racing, a Raffle, the Tossing of the Sheaf and most importantly a very successful and cheerful Ploughing Competition.
The association wishes to thank our hosts Mr & Mrs Graham and John Emery for allowing this event to take place and to BTF Partnership for their invaluable and continued support for the 2022 event.
